# All-In-One PN532

All-In-One PN532 combines an NXP PN532 NFC controller with a USB serial interface. Use it as an external reader for MTools or control it from a computer through PN532 CLI and libnfc. An optional Bluetooth extension provides wireless connectivity.

## Hardware and Capabilities

| Item | Description |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Host protocol | PN532 high-speed UART (HSU), exposed through USB serial |
| USB serial chipset | CH340 family; inspect the device revision for driver requirements |
| USB connection | Micro-USB or USB-C, depending on revision |
| NFC technology | 13.56 MHz; ISO14443A, ISO14443B, and FeliCa capabilities depend on the host software |
| Bluetooth | Optional extension; SPP and BLE availability depends on the extension |
| Power | Main reader board powered over USB; battery operation requires the extension |

The PN532 CLI provides MIFARE Classic and Ultralight operations, raw ISO14443A exchanges, and selected target/NDEF workflows. Standard PN532 hardware does not provide PN532Killer's persistent emulator slots, ISO15693 extensions, or LF extension functions.

## Controls

Select **USB** for a direct wired host and **BT** for the Bluetooth extension. **CONFIG** is used for extension configuration, not normal NFC operation. Some revisions also have a **RUN / CONFIG** pin switch; use RUN for normal operation.

A stock PN532 board does not have a user-flashable PN532Killer or RP2040 firmware image. For custom applications, develop host software as described in [Host Software and Development](/hardware/rfid-nfc-and-uhf-hardware/all-in-one-pn532/host-development.md).

See the [All-In-One PN532 product page](https://shop.mtoolstec.com/product/mtools-all-in-one-pn532/) for board revisions and accessories.
